Also called the Zanzibar Gem or Zulu Plant, ZZ Plants are a highly resilient plant with origins in the arid climates of Eastern and Southern Africa. ZZ plants grow glossy leaves that sprout in a neat and regular pattern, and the ‘Zenzi’ dwarf variety is less common with more compact, curly foliage. Because of their adaptability, ZZ plants are especially suitable for those with minimal plant care experience or time.

Largely self-maintaining, these plants are drought-resistant and tolerate low-lighting well, although bright indirect sunlight will promote the most growth. With a name meaning prosperity or friendship, ZZ plants can also be propagated from a single leaf – making them ideal for sharing.
