Cycas hoabinhensis 10X12cm Caudex

Cycas hoabinhensis is a striking and rare cycad species native to northern Vietnam. It stands out with its sculptural rosette of stiff, feather-like fronds that emerge from a stout, woody trunk. The leaves are a deep glossy green, arching elegantly and forming a symmetrical crown that instantly commands attention. This plant thrives in subtropical settings and makes an extraordinary focal point in rock gardens, tropical borders, or modern landscaping.

Midway between a fern and a palm in appearance, Cycas hoabinhensis brings a prehistoric charm to any space. Its thick, slowly growing caudex supports long, compound leaves with rigid, narrow leaflets. The texture is almost metallic, with a slight sheen that intensifies in bright light. Gardeners value this species not only for its resilient form but also for its architectural beauty, ideal for containers or as a specimen plant.

Extremely slow-growing and long-lived, making it a true collectors item.
Thrives in pots, rockeries, or dry garden designs.
Offers superb texture and form with minimal care.
Tolerates short dry spells once established.

Cycas hoabinhensis also carries cultural importance, often used ornamentally in regional temple gardens. Its dramatic shape and hardy structure suit minimalist and tropical styles alike. With patience, it rewards the grower with a living sculpture that evolves slowly over decades.
