Aglaonema ‘Cocomelon’ is a cheerful, distinctly striped Chinese evergreen with lance-shaped leaves patterned in bands of bright green, deep forest green, and cool silver. The bold, rhythmic striping gives the plant a graphic, almost watermelon-rind appearance that its playful cultivar name captures perfectly.

Origins
Aglaonemas are native to the tropical and subtropical forests of Southeast Asia, with parent species ranging across southern China, India, Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Papua New Guinea. In the wild they grow in shaded, consistently humid understorey conditions. ‘Cocomelon’ is a modern ornamental cultivar bred for its bold green-and-silver striping.

Soil and Substrate
Aglaonemas perform best in a rich, moisture-retentive yet well-drained substrate. Our Simply Houseplant Mix suits ‘Cocomelon’ perfectly. The peat-free blend of coco coir, bark, and perlite holds steady moisture without becoming waterlogged, supporting healthy roots and the bold, well-defined striping this cultivar is known for.
