A new, rare cultivar with striking, black stems as the name suggests. Cultivar of Alocasia zebrina which is native to South-East Asia.

Leaves are large, arrow shaped and upward pointing.
Leaf undersides are also veined in black.
The black stems are actually deep red which can sometimes be seen on the sheaths.

Growth pattern: Tuberous, tall & upright

Water: Little and often. Keep moist but not waterlogged.

Ideal Position: South, east or north facing

Light: Medium to bright, indirect light.

Humidity disclaimer: This plant will grow well outside of a terrarium or cabinet. However, all tropical plants thrive with higher humidity levels. To achieve this we suggest grouping plants together, or putting them in a bathroom or kitchen which gets regular use.
