Pelecyphora aselliformis ‘Crested’ is a unique and striking cactus known for its fascinating crested growth pattern. Unlike the typical form, this cultivar develops an intricate fan-like shape, giving it an otherworldly appearance. The stems are covered in rows of distinctive tubercles, each lined with small, soft spines that mimic the shape of a woodlouse (hence the species name aselliformis). The crested form enhances its textured look, making it highly sought after by collectors. Its pale pinkish-purple flowers emerge in late spring, adding a splash of color to its gray-green structure.
