Many prayer plants require lower light than other popular plants, and with the proper care, they bring color, geometryand movement. Prayer plants open and close depending on the time of day and the available light. Their foliage is attractive on both sides of the leaves, bringing a different vibe at different times of day. In addition, theyre non-toxic. Homes with pets or children need not worry. The Calathea concinna, also known as a Calathea Freddie, is a tropical plant native to the northwestern regions of Brazil. Freddie is known for its beautiful striped green foliage. With its long green leaves and maroon undersides, the Calathea Rufibarba has one of the most unusual leaf shapes of all Calathea plants. Not to be confused with the rather similar looking Calathea lancifolia, the Calathea Rufibarba is also often referred to as the velvet calathea or furry feather Calathea on account of its fluffy feather-shaped leaves. Part of the prayer plant family, the stunning Calathea Medallion is arguably one of Mother Natures most beautiful creations. Its large, medallion-like leaves appear to be painted with brushstrokes of deep green and fuschia tones, flourishing out into a bouquet of unmistakable, colorful foliage.
